Medication Review & Management
A medication therapy review is a one-on-one consultation between a pharmacist and a patient during which the pharmacist collects information about the patient’s health conditions and all of the medications he/she takes – whether prescribed, over the counter, or a natural health product.
At Pulse Care We provide an expert assessment by Doctor of Pharmacy to verify medications, dosage, side effect and potential interactions. It also provides the opportunity to ask questions to better understand medications and the proper way they should be taken, reducing the risk for medication-related problems.

Immunizations
Immunization is one of the most important public health measures used to protect the health of Albertans. It is one of the most successful and cost-effective public health interventions.
Immunization helps your body to build immunity, or resistance, against certain diseases before you are exposed to those diseases. Vaccines are used for immunization.
Vaccines are very important to public health and their use has significantly contributed to the prevention and control of infectious diseases.
We offer wide range of routine and travel vaccination including but not limited to following

Compounding
Compounding is the creation of a pharmaceutical preparation—a drug—by a licensed pharmacist to meet the unique needs of an individual patient (either human or animal) when a commercially available drug does not meet those needs. A patient may not be able to tolerate the commercially available drug, the exact preparation needed may not be commercially available, or a patient may require a drug that is currently in shortage or discontinued. At Pulse Care we work with patients and physicians to provide a personal and customized solution to meet all your pharmaceutical needs. We have the ability to customize drug strengths, dosage forms (creams/ointments, tablets/capsules, suppositories, etc.), change flavours, or exclude specific ingredients present in commercially available products that may be allergy-inducing to some patients.
Following are a few examples of a compounding
- Customize strength or dosage.
- Flavor a medication (to make it more palatable for a child or a pet).
- Reformulate the drug to exclude an unwanted, nonessential ingredient, such as lactose, gluten, or a dye to which a patient is allergic.
- Change the form of the medication for patients who, for example, have difficulty swallowing or experience stomach upset when taking oral medication.
